The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Response Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Updates Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she said. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
