The star has handed over the entirety of his £25,000 Mercury Prize cash to the trust for venues, which functions to protect the Britain's independent music venues.
The star was given the award on mid-October as his latest record the album was declared the top album of the last 12 months.
He has decided to hand the money over to the MVT, in recognition of the vital role small stages had in his initial steps.
"I would not have achieved this success if it hadn't been for all the gigs I played around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was beginning," stated the artist. "These venues are legendary, but they are in difficulty."
From early 2023 onward, more than 150 of these locations have permanently closed – roughly 16 percent of the total UK scene.
In the last year, top acts including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by including a modest fee to their admission fees, which goes to help local stages.
He also participated, collecting over £100k on his recent tour to assist thirty-eight local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.
These funds helped spaces that were dealing with potential shutdown due to difficulties arising from water damage, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and sound issues.
Some locations obtained financial assistance in improving amenities and technical equipment that helped musicians and fans.
"The idea that funds from concerts in big venues backs the independent spots, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just logical," the star has commented.
He is among several artists to donate his honor winnings to worthy causes.
In Pulp earned the award in the mid-90s for their release Different Class, vocalist Cocker announced that the group would contribute their winnings to the charity War Child.
That year, artist she divided her bounty across multiple organizations, including the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"Additionally, I contributed a £1,000 to the center, to their gymnastics class, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite told outlets.
Previously, the band donated their funds to the local youth club that nurtured their band, alongside other local music groups.
Also the 1994 recipients M People donated their winnings to a charity for MS after a friend was diagnosed the illness.
"Winning was sufficient," remarked artist Small. "The money was the extra but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the honor. So our winning affected the lives of others."
Last week, the trust announced it had saved a couple of grassroots venues in south-east England, by placing them under local control.
One venue in Southampton and the second in that location were acquired under the Own Our Venues program, which is funded by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who acquire "stakes" in the buildings.
