Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
